Now that I've had some time to play around with my new Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, here are some of my thoughts about it. I really like the big screen. I can actually do two handed typing on the screen keyboard. The best thing is being able to use my big PC painting programs at full size. When I hook up to my big PC through Splashtop, this tablet is so big that it doesn't squish the view of my PC screen. That makes it a lot easier to work on digital paintings. It is great for using android painting apps too. The bigger screen helps make more detailed paintings.
The tablet seems to run a little bit faster than my other Samsungs, but not a whole lot faster. I don't see a lot of difference with kitkat except, it messes up some apps that work fine on jellybean. One thing that I don't like is the icons will turn to an sd card symbol when you move them to the sd card so you have to make a new shortcut icon. I think that is a kitkat bug. I like all the Samsung bells and whistles like the pen window, the scrapbook function, and the hover function. It has multi-windows and floating windows including the gallery window, so you can use it for photo references when painting. I also like how you can hover your s pen over your music files and it will start playing the music, so you can see what song file it is. I got the 64 GB tablet with a 64 GB sd card, so I have around 128 GBs of storage, but it probably won't be enough for me, ha ha.
The HD screen looks very good and magazines and graphic novels look wonderful on it. I'm so disappointed that the WormWorld Saga app doesn't display correctly on this this tablet. However, I found a new series from the Comics app called "Finding Gossamyr" which has really beautiful graphics. Also, the Dark Crystal prequel novels look wonderful on it. Hidden object games are really good to play on it because of the bigger screen. All in all, I really like this tablet and it is making it easier to paint large digital paintings.
