I use the Barnes and Noble Nook app to order my art mags like Imagine FX and 3D Artist. Since the app kept removing and archiving my magazines, I started making a copy of each issue and saving it to the SD card. However, since the Nook has undergone a vast new upgrade several things have been changed. You can't find your downloaded files without having a rooted tablet and even then they are encrypted. So there's no easy way to back up your files. This has something to do with Digital Rights Management, but it basically cheats you out of your purchases if something goes wrong. When the Nook was upgraded to 4.0 I lost my downloads on my device, but I had them backed up to my SD card. The new app finds these files, but doesn't display them properly unless I click on the files directly from the My Files app. So I have just uninstalled the new update and gone back to the previous version where I can still make backups of my files. This is an issue that Barnes and Noble needs to address. At least allow people to back up their files like the Amazon MP3 Music store does. People are paying for a book and they deserve to be able to keep what they bought.
