There seems to be very little information on good Android or Wacom Companion Hybrid art apps and usage, from the perspective of artist actually using the apps frequently. I am posting here some of my observations and experiences. Apps and resources for art creation on Android devices.

This excellent gallery app includes several built-in image editing tools, including image flip, filters etc. I use MW-PEN App Enabler to convert it into a floating /window app on my Samsung device so I can use the app for reference, and be able to flip the image in-window when I flip my painting. Got one.
Very comparable to the Note 10.1 2014.
Not noticeably faster in brush performance as the CPU is mid-range. Has Note 4+ pen technology, 2048 level of pressure and tit.
Nice screen color, improved hardware build quality.
IMHO if you have a Note 10.1 2014 it may not be a good investment unless is it found on-sale.
Right now (Nov 23/2016) it can be bought from Best Buy for $226.99 for an open box (like new) or new for $250.

Thanks for responding Elle
On the Surface Pro only the "erase" tip is customizable, not the pen side button. It is the side button(s) that I use. The Datebook might use Wacom tech so possibly provide options. My SP2 which uses Wacom tech is fully configurable.
cheers
Glad to see you are still updating this forum!

Still waiting on the Matebook, and hoping the stylus tech is Wacom and the stylus buttons configurable. The Surface Pro 3/4 have been a huge disappointment for me in that regard.

Any solution for making the floating window smaller? I updated my note 2014 10.1 to 5.1 and then downgraded back to 4.4.2 for this reason?

Two relatively new 3d pose tools are out and ArtPose and ArpPose FE. Both are far better then older tools, more detailed and include many poses.

Infinite Painter will soon have the fixed floating color pallet.

FYI, Samsung changed the way multi window works in 5.1.1. The floating window cannot be resized smaller the approximately 50% the screen size. Previously the winds could be reduced to 1/4 screen size.

Photo Player Multi just came out for Android. Seems like a pretty good floating photo app. link

I have been trying out the iPad Pro and Pencil, PaintStorm studio is by far the best iOS art app. Absolutely incredible.

Totally looking forward to tying this, I have been waiting for years, thanks Ellie.
I have several other devices to compare it to:
Note 10.1 2014 Cintiq Hybrid Nividia Shield Surface Pro 2 (Win10 and Artdock installed)

I think there is a limit on brush size in relation to the pen pressure technology. I think that 1024 levels mean that any brush over 1024/2048 pixels in size may not function properly. If true the N-Trig limit of 256 would be miserable.
