Ater January 2016 Sketchbook Pro will stop offering perpetual desktop licenses and go to a membership model. This means in order to use Sketchbook Pro, you will have to pay on a monthly or yearly basis to use this program. People that have purchased a perpetual license for Sketchbook Pro 7 can use a code given to them and get a free 1 year membership. I am very upset about this. This was a nice affordable program and I don't understand why they decided not to sell perpetual licenses anymore. Maya is very expensive and I can understand why they would offer monthly or yearly payments for it. Even Adobe still sells its cheaper programs. There are a lot of alternatives out there to Sketchbook Pro and this may drive people away. I personally do not like this at all and I am not sure that I will subscribe.
