The new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phone will have the new Sketchbook Pro app and ArtRage for android on it in the apps gifts package. That might explain the delay in the release of those two apps. The ArtRage team stated on their forum that ArtRage for android would be available in the Google Playstore for everyone as soon as they make an official press release. I assume that will be pretty soon since they are releasing the app on the Galaxy Note 4.

Well, they didn't exactly say it would be in the Playstore. What they said was you would be able to get ArtRage on your other devices without having to buy the note 4. I hope that means you can buy it in the Playstore.

Just got a Note4, and was pretty psyched to see it as one of the gifts. I like the desktop version quite a bit. For me, the nice paint engine isn't worth the lag. I didn't last 2min with it. Was pretty much the case with my iPad3 and ArtRage too i remember :/

Yes, I've heard some of the ipad users talk about the lag. I am interested to see how it will perform on my Note Pro 12.2. Clover Paint has a big lag too, but it runs a little better on the 12.2. Have you tried the new Infinite Painter Beta? The developer is working on getting all the bugs out of it and it runs fairly smooth.

I normally use pretty basic brushes, so haven't really had any lagging in Clover Paint, myself. Makes sense though. I'm sure it's worth a little lag in AR if you're really wanting to do painterly stuff.. Hope it runs well on your Note Pro =)
I actually tried to sign up last night after seeing your post about the last beta i think it was(?) The link for the Note version wasn't working, and i only have the free version of the non-note version. Will look into it again tonight though... It sounds like this is going to be a really nice release coming up! May actually become my personal favorite painting app =) Painter is another one that i recently tried that seems to have a lot of potential as well.... Right now there are several apps that are only missing a couple of little things that keep me from using them.
I'll go back to Clover Paint if Infinite Painter doesn't work out. I lost all my settings recently, and reeeeeally not looking forward to getting it configured again =p And the gui is a little hard to read on my Note's screen.

Mainly the lag on Clover Paint is on the large size brushes. For example, when I want to cover large areas of my canvas and I increase the brush size to the maximum there is a big lag. If I keep the brush size to medium there isn't much lag. I think in order to get the Infinite Painter Beta for the Note devices you have to have purchased the full current version of Infinite Painter Note. I really like the new version, but there are some bugs like vanishing layers that Sean (the developer) is trying to get fixed. You might try Corel Painter Mobile, it still needs some bug fixes but it has some nice brushes. You have to export your paintings often because it also has the vanishing layers bug. Artflow and LayerPaint HD are pretty good too.

Hmmm... I do have the full Note version of Infinite Paint. But when i went to the google+ page where it has the links to become a beta tester, only the regular (non-note) version link worked for me :/ And i haven't purchased the regular version. Yeah, i was pretty impressed by Painter. Especially considering it's so new =) Seems to have one of the nicer workflows... I'm giving LayerPaint HD another shot now that you can hide that huge bar at the top of the screen. It's still kind of a screen hog when used on a Note phone's screen, imho... I liked Artflow, but felt like i was having to tap too much to get to some of the stuff that i use a lot... I'm picky like that. Spoiled by Procreate i guess It manages to have everything you need - have it within easy reach - and keeps it out of your way.

Several people in the Infinite Painter beta group have been having the same problem. I don't know what is going on with that. One more app I forgot to mention is Colors! for android tablets. It was originally developed for the Nintendo DS and 3DS. It only has three brush types and no blender, but you can use the airbrush for blending by changing its opacity. Anyway that app has a playback feature and you can export it as an mp4 file. That app runs really smooth and clean. You can also watch the playback of other people's paintings in the gallery feature.
